Current trends show that those students seeking an MBA degree online are becoming more interested in degree programs that put a focus on technology. Many of these students hope to work for large tech companies upon graduation. Google is the top choice among MBA students today, with 28% saying that working at Google would be their ideal job. Apple was the second choice at 15%, followed by Facebook and Amazon.
A spokesperson for Amazon noted that the company puts a preference on MBA degree holders, which are most frequently hired as financial analysts and managers. Even for those MBA students who go to work in other industries, having a strong background in technology will give them a competitive advantage. It can be argued that having these skills is even more important to recruiters than academic performance or previous work experience.
