My dad was a great photographer. Unfortunately, with his hands no longer being as nimble as they once were, he basically had to let go of this activity that he loved so dearly. Well, he recently surprised me with some gorgeous shots he took while on a day trip with my mum! I couldn't believe it when I opened my email from him. Turns out, he had taken it to heart when I recently showed him the video clip about how Fatsarazzi uses the Samsung Galaxy Tab. I wanted him to see it as an example of how convenient and easy tablets can be, hoping he could see himself using one too! I don't yet know which tablet he got, but I see he's certainly gotten the hang of it! I'm so proud of him for not hesitating to let new technology help him engage with a lifelong creative passion again. He said he's also using it to listen to music. My dad is a good example of how technology really can change people's lives.
Next I'm going to work on my mum! I want her to see how useful this could be for reading recipes, for example, while she's cooking…she can enlarge the font and stand the tablet up. For selfish reasons, I'd like her, or my dad!, to take pictures of her flowers and send them to me, in case I can't get there when a particularly beautiful bloom is in its prime. I think she'll appreciate the ease of use in the fact that with a pad, taking the photo and sending it are done on the same device. I think she'll get inspired, like my dad, to let a tablet enhance her life!
