How intillgent can a fridge be? Well, this one could even buy pork online for me, thank you very much!

Would you think it a thing of the future for a fridge to be intelligent enough to order food online? Well, doing some research for refrigerators recently, I found a BBC article from way back in 1999 about a refrigerator by Electrolux with a feature for, in fact, ordering food online! I've recently started to buy some foods online (not via a fridge, but using my good ol' computer!), such as organic grains and vegetables, as well as meats, free-range, of course, which is what I look for when I buy pork online, for example, as well as lamb online. I realized that with a fridge like the one mentioned in the article the buying process would be even more streamlined! Realizing how far behind the times I am, I had a look into the recent state of affairs on the matter and it seems there's even the idea of having fridges scan their own contents! So your refrigerator could even do some of your thinking for you with it's own computer. The article from 1999 also talks about intelligent door-knobs! I haven't looked into recent advancements in that regard, but it suffices to help me realize the extent of the transformational nature of the online era!
