The latest technology news on Facebook is that the company is pushing back the date of its much anticipated IPO to late 2012. The IPO will be held back until at least September 2012, although the company has said that the delay has noting to do with the difficult stock market conditions. Instead, Mark Zuckerberg is trying to keep employees focused on rolling out new products rather than getting a huge IPO payday.

The company's latest offering is a Twitter-like update which will enable Facebook members to subscribe to public postings of user on other social networks. In other tech news, Google Ad sales growth is being challenged by rivals as Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL have joined forces to counter the search engine giants display advertising push. However, industry analysts are skeptical that this partnership will be able to put a dent in Google's ad business.
